So, the stage is set for the biggest event of 2017, The ICC Champions Trophy. There are as usual top 8 teams of the world participating in this event. As for a surprise, the former Champions West Indies couldn’t make it to the event.

England are hosting this year’s Champions trophy and many consider them as the favourites to clinch the title this year. After England’s group stage exit from the 2015 World cup, they have completely transformed themselves in the white and ball contest. Another team that has surprised every one is Bangladesh. After reaching till Quarterfinals in the 2015 World cup and defeating England in the group stage they are the dark horses of this event.
The 8 teams participating in this event are:- South Africa, Australia, India, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Srilanka, and Pakistan.
For me, 3 players to watch out for are:
I think India, South Africa, Australia, and England would qualify for the knockouts and the final can be the same as of last year’s or India vs South Africa. What do you think?

For me, 3 players to watch out for are:
- Shikhar Dhawan, we all know how the BCCI were criticised upon his selection.
- Mohammad Amir, the fast bowler from Pakistan is playing his Champions Trophy after serving his 5 years ban.
- Virat Kohli, he had a fantastic 2016 but his form in 2017 is not so good as compared to his standards. (Let’s not mention IPL) All eyes will be on him if he will be able to cope with English conditions after he was exposed in the England series back in 2014.
My dream team for this tournament would be
Hashim Amla, Tamim Iqbal, Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli(c), Ben Stokes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Amir, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada, Ravindra Jadeja, Imran Tahir
I think India, South Africa, Australia, and England would qualify for the knockouts and the final can be the same as of last year’s or India vs South Africa. What do you think?
Like every Indian, I sincerely wish India can win Champions Trophy again!
Very well written
