Premier League Gameweek 14- Review

So the Gameweek 14 of the Premier League has ended. This week was again, all about Man City's resistance towards giving a double-figures lead to Liverpool who have looked invincibles so far.

City's game was against Steve Bruce's Newcastle who have surely looked to have gained the confidence of their fans and are starting to look dangerous again. But this game was all about City.
They started brightly in that game and got the desired reward when Raheem Sterling scored the goal in the 22nd minute to give City the lead. But it was short-lived as Jetro Willems soon levelled the scoreline in the 25th minute. The game had always looked in City's control but they missed a host of chances especially by Gabriel Jesus who was playing in place of injured Aguero.
With 77% possession to show for but no goals coming Pep and City were getting frustrated. They needed a moment of brilliance and they got one from their star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. When he volleyed home a sensational goal from outside the box in the 82nd minute. It looked that City would go home with all 3 points, but former Liverpool player and current Newcastle start Jonjo Shelvey had other plans. He again levelled the score-line with a well-worked free-kick.
The match ended and Shelvey probably had given his former club a favour with his goal.

Now onto Liverpool. They have always made sure that they do not drop any points and have got a habit of winning it ugly. For the game against Brighton, they continued it and lead in the 18th minute with a goal by their Star defender Van Dijk. Their lead was doubled in the 24th minute after Van Dijk scored again. Surprisingly after that goal, Brighton controlled the match but never looked dangerous. But they got a lifeline in 76th minute when Allison was handed a red card. In the 79th minute, Brighton scored a goal through Lewis Dunk's strike to make last 10 minutes nerve-racking for Liverpool. But somehow they got through and got well deserved 3 points.

Now let's talk about my favourite team Chelsea. They have been on a roll in the Premier league barring a loss against Man City. They played well in the CL as well but couldn't get all 3 points against Valencia. They were up against West Ham in the PL who had lost their previous 3 matches and whose manager was fighting to save his job.
Chelsea started brightly and looked the more threatening side in the first 30 minutes. But soon their attack started fading and West Ham started to look the better side. It looked as if Chelsea's players were a lot tired and West Ham made sure that they exploited that weaklink of Chelsea, which they eventually did when Aaron Cresswell slotted home a well worked goal in the 48th minute to give Hammers the lead. No matter what Chelsea tried after that they just couldn't breach the Hammer's defense. But when they did Pulisic's shot went wide of the goal which could have been 1-1 considering Pulisic's ability. Chelsea eventually lost and now they find themselves only 6 points above Mourinho's Tottenham who have won back to back games in the PL for the first time this season.

Man Utd and Arsenal's struggle continued as they both drew 2-2 against Aston Villa and Norwich City respectively. It's still hard to believe how Ole has kept his job at Man Utd after such disastrous season so far. With Poch breathing down his neck it will surely make him more tensed even if he doesn't admit it.

Leicester City. They are surely looking title contenders now. 8 points behind Liverpool, you have got to admit it, it is no fluke. They have shown consistency and defensive strength and are in an imperious form. They are my bid to finish in top 4 with Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.
