Premier League Gameweek 1 Review

So it started with four goals and it ended with four goals. What an exciting start it has been of this year's Premier League season. Gameweek 1 started with the match of the reigning European champions Liverpool and ended with the high profile clash of Manchester United Vs Chelsea.
Liverpool have started their PL title run with a thumping 4-1 win over Norwich City with Salah, Van Dijk and Origi on the scoresheet. But the only negative aspect of that game was the injury to their star goalkeeper Allison who could be out for several weeks, apart from that it was a perfect game.

Their biggest challengers Manchester City also showed their dominance with a 4-0 rout of West Ham, with Sterling grabbing his season's first of many hat-tricks. The player who impressed me the most was Mahrez with his 2 assists. I'm pretty sure he will be a valuable player for City.

The one thing that made its presence felt in this Gameweek was VAR. It had a major impact on two of the games, one of Manchester City and another of Wolves. One goal of Wolves and rightly so was disallowed which led to a goalless draw against Leicester City.

Arsenal made an encouraging start by winning at tricky Newcastle with Aubameyang on the scoresheet. Tottenham, Burnley and Brighton won against Aston Villa, Southampton and Watford respectively with three goals each.
With Sheffield United making a return to the Premier League with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth and Everton played out a goalless draw against crystal palace.

Now onto the biggest match of the week-

Manchester United Vs Chelsea. Well, 4-0 is too cruel on Chelsea as they played well in the 1st half. They hit the post twice and were obviously unlucky. But in the 2nd half, their defence just vanished. Zouma and Azpilicueta were poor and Christensen, Emerson marginally better. Lampard has a lot of work to do with the defence.
Well according to me 4-3-3 is a better formation for Chelsea with Kante as DM and Mount and Jorginho playing advanced roles in the midfield. Chelsea should move on from this match as soon as possible because they also have to play Liverpool on 14th of August for the UEFA Super Cup.
